A teenager has been arrested following a "serious assault" and vandalism to a car in Beith.

Emergency services were called following the incident on Thursday night, August 21.

Between 7pm and 8pm, a 28-year-old man was assaulted and had his car vandalised in a car park at Bellman's Close.

He was later taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed that a 17-year-old man had bee arrested in connection with the incident and that enquiries were ongoing.

They are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have CCTV, doorbell or dash cam footage to come forward.
