A teenage girl has sadly died after falling ill at the Emerge Festival in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The incident occurred at Boucher Playing Fields, where the festival was taking place. Emergency services were called, and the girl was transported to hospital, but she later passed away.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed the tragic news, stating that the girl was in her late teens. A spokesperson for the PSNI said, "Police attended a report of the sudden death of a girl aged in her late teens on Sunday, 24th August, who died in hospital after becoming unwell at an event in south Belfast."
In addition to the girl, two other festival-goers also fell ill. A woman in her 30s is currently in a serious but stable condition, while a teenage boy has received treatment and is expected to make a full recovery. The PSNI is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incidents at the festival, which has raised concerns about the safety of attendees.
