ST. LOUIS — Nearly 2,000 teachers and support staff at St. Louis Public Schools signed onto a vote of no confidence in Superintendent Millicent Borishade based on "numerous and troubling concerns."
Leaders of the American Federation of Teachers Local 420 will deliver the signatures Monday with a letter to Karen Collins-Adams, SLPS board president.
The no-confidence vote comes after Borishade delayed discussions with union leaders about relocating tornado-damaged schools and released a consultant's proposal to close 37 out of 68 school buildings.
Two-thirds of the bargaining unit signed their names to the vote, according to Ray Cummings, the union's president.
