Last Tuesday, the Sampson County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a strategic plan for economic development, a step forward for the county’s future and a hopeful road map to success.

Something Economic Development Director Ray Jordan said during the public presentation before the vote Tuesday night struck us: “For economic growth to happen, whether large or small, we have to have everybody working together — the community, our businesses, and the county.”

It’s a simple statement, but a powerful one. The average citizen may think, “What can I do to help economic development?
