Two teenagers were arrested in Piccadilly Gardens after a knife and balaclava was found on Sunday (August 24).
Officers from GMP's Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood team were continuing to patrol the city centre hotspot when they made the arrests.
In one incident, a teenage boy was arrested after being found in possession of a bladed article. He has since been charged and bailed to attend court but cannot be named for legal reasons.
