ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD) – Video shared by Isle of Palms police shows a ride-share driver accidentally driving into Moran Creek from the Isle of Palms Marina parking lot.

The incident happened just after 9 p.m. Saturday, according to police.

The agency said two good Samaritans pulled the driver from the car before it went underwater. The driver was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Video of the incident shows it was raining heavily at the time.

“This incident underscores the dangers of driving during severe weather conditions, including heavy rain and flooding, particularly at night. Water can quickly obscure where the roadway ends and make it difficult to gauge depths,” said IOP Police Chief Kevin Cornett.

Isle of Palms police and fire personnel responded to the scene.
