(NewsNation) — Comedian Reginald “Reggie” Carroll has died after a shooting in Mississippi, according to the Southaven Police Department. He was 52.
The Baltimore-based comic was killed Wednesday, Aug. 20, police confirmed Saturday.
Authorities confirmed that they have a suspect in custody.
Carroll not only performed standup comedy across the country, but according to IMDB, he was also an actor and host.
He hosted the 2023 special “Knockout Kings of Comedy,” appeared in the movie “Rent & Go” and had a role on a 2000 episode of “The Parkers,” which starred fellow actor and comedienne Mo’Nique.

In an Instagram story, Mo’Nique commented on Carroll’s death, calling him a “brother in comedy,” according to Deadline.
