Baltimore comedy community mourns the loss of one of their own after stand-up comic, Reggie Carroll, was killed in an isolated shooting in Mississippi.

Reggie Carroll, a stand-up comedian from Maryland, was shot and killed in Mississippi on Aug. 20, according to police.

The Southaven Police Department (SPD) responded to a shooting on Aug. 20 and discovered a male with gunshot wounds, police said in a press release on Facebook.

The officers and medical personnel provided life-saving techniques, but the individual succumbed to his injuries, the SPD said.

A 38-year-old man, Tranell Williams, was placed in custody and charged with the murder of the 52-year-old comedian. In an initial update, officials said the shooting was isolated.
