GOODLAND, Kan. (KAKE) - The first responders who worked during the massive 71-car pileup on Interstate 70 back in March were honored during a special ceremony over the weekend.

On Saturday, officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers and medical crews from across northwest Kansas were recognized for their efforts during the March 14 pileup that killed eight people and injured dozens. Dispatchers managed over 100 calls responding to the crash, which occurred during a sudden dust storm.
