PARK CITY, Kan. (KAKE) — Park City leaders on Tuesday approved the STAR bond project plan for “ Champtown ,” a proposed $519 million entertainment development. The 8-1 vote clears the city’s next step and sends the plan to the Kansas Department of Commerce for review.
The plan outlines a 160-acre site with an 80,000-square-foot aquarium housing more than 1,500 animals, a 12,000-square-foot butterfly conservatory, a multi-sport complex, hotel and more than 225,000 square feet of retail, restaurants and entertainment space. City officials said about $445 million of the project is eligible for STAR bond financing.
