A long-time incumbent in Alabama’s second-fastest growing county lost Tuesday to a younger challenger who entered the race at the last minute.
“I’m going to do my best to uphold everything they’ve put upon me at this point,” Brad Bass, who was elected mayor of Spanish Fort Tuesday. “I’m excited for the future of Spanish Fort.”
Multiple cities in Baldwin County had competitive races, largely centered around the explosive growth in the county and managing ensuing development.
But in Fairhope , the highly publicized focus was on the town’s library. A slate of challengers to the city’s incumbent city councilmembers was endorsed by Rebecca Watson, a conservative activist and former chapter president of Moms for Liberty.
