MADISON, Conn. (WFSB) - Emergency crews are responding to a crash in Madison on Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to the area of Route 1 after a report of a vehicle that struck a bridge, the police department said.

Route 1 is closed between Wildwood Avenue and Mungertown Road.

The public is asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

No further details were released.
