The pandemic ushered in a new era for employers and employees, showing that remote jobs are possible, and maybe even more practical for some workplaces.

However, since lockdown and COVID-19 restrictions were lifted in 2022, an increasing number of companies are moving from remote jobs to mandating a full return to the office.

Recently, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced that he’s mandating all Ontario Public Service Agency and Commission employees to work in-person, five days a week, starting in January 2026, much to the dismay of labour unions .
