SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KCAU) — In the late morning Monday, a police unit in South Sioux City noticed smoke and flames coming from a structure and alerted the South Sioux City Fire Department (SSCFD).

The smoke was coming from a garage at 601 West 7th Street, and within two minutes of arrival, firefighters noted the structure was fully on fire. Within 10 minutes, and with assistance from Sioux City Fire Rescue, they were able to gain control over the fire.

All occupants and pets were determined to be safe, with no injuries reported. Authorities think the fire was accidental, stating it could have started from a propane cooker that was "unintentionally" left on. The garage, and its contents, are considered a total loss, costing about $25,000.
