STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — A Bellefonte man is facing felony charges after police say his dog was found starved to death inside a vacant State College apartment that was uninhabitable and not legally leased.
Michael Anthony Wright, 51, has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals resulting in death, criminal trespass and neglect of animals, according to a criminal complaint filed by State College police. Wright was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following his arraignment on Aug. 23, court records show.
According to the affidavit, police were contacted on April 18 after the landlord of 524 N. Burrowes St. reported a dog left unattended in an apartment that was supposed to be vacant. Investigators said they entered the unit and discovered unsanitary conditions, including piles of
