HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- Juniata College is celebrating a special milestone through the 2025-2026 academic year that will be filled with several events for students, staff, and faculty.

Juniata College is celebrating 150 years. The college was founded by Andrew B. Brumbaugh, a young physician from Huntingdon, and his two cousins, Henry and John Brumbaugh. Observed on April 17 each year, Founder’s Day marks the anniversary of the opening day of classes in 1876.

Three years later, classes relocated to the institution’s first permanent building, Founders Hall, which is located on the present-day campus. The sesquicentennial celebration comes as Juniata welcomes the Class of 2029 to campus for the fall 2025 semester.
