UPHAM, ND (KXNET) — A 19-year-old Bottineau man has died in a three-vehicle crash west of Upham Saturday night.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, on Saturday, August 23 at about 11:45 p.m., a 2006 Freightliner semi-truck was disabled on the shoulder and partially in the westbound lane on 80th St N, just east of the intersection with 17th Ave N. The Freightliner had its rear lights activated and emergency triangles placed at the back of it.

A 2008 Ram was parked in front of the truck as two people tried to repair the semi.

At that time, a Chevrolet Silverado heading west on 80th St N crashed into the back of the semi-trailer. The driver of the Chevy was pronounced deceased on scene.

The semi was unoccupied at the time, and the two working on repairing it were not injured.
