LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel is calling to cut DTE’s new half-a billion dollar rate hike.
On Friday, the AG’s office filed testimony in DTE’s rate hike case calling for a reduction of nearly 75%.
DTE filed a request in April seeking to hike rates for residential customers by 11%, or $574 million in total.
The rate hike request came three months after the Michigan Public Service Commission approved a rate hike of $217 million.
Nessel’s testimony calls on the Public Service Commission to reduce the hike from 11% on residential customers to 2.5%
