PEORIA, Ill. – An adult and a teenager are facing weapons charges after a South Peoria shooting early Sunday morning that injured two people, one critically with a gunshot wound to the head.

The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 24-year-old Elijah Irby and a 17-year-old boy are being held until their trials.

Prosecutors say 19 shots were fired in the area of Trewyn and Roosevelt Place, with Peoria Police officers finding a vehicle with bullet holes and a broken window, and a blood trail leading to the street.

Officers spotted three males who fled on foot when approached.

Irby was reportedly found hiding behind a bush in the area of Seibold and Griswold, while the 17-year-old was reportedly found hiding across the street, with firearms allegedly found in both locations.
