DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- Labor Day marks the end of summer, but construction season isn't over just yet.

As travelers set out to celebrate the holiday weekend, officials are warning travelers to remain cautious of construction along major roadways.

"Want to make sure that they plan ahead, allow a little bit of extra time, make sure they pack some patience," said Mandi Dillon, ODOT regional public information officer.

While crews may not be working over the holiday weekend, construction zones are still on many Ohio roadways.

"We won't have as many workers and crews out, and we will try to be opening some lanes where possible," said Dillon.

Even if you are planning to stay home, Dillon says other travelers could be arriving in the Miami Valley.
