Parts of Southern California are facing flash flood warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings just days after a major heat wave blanketed the region.
National Weather Service offices covering the region are warning of gusty winds to quarter-sized hail in some parts of the region, urging residents to take precautions during the afternoon of Monday, Aug. 25. The Coachella Valley saw winds approaching 50 mph and hail less than an inch Monday afternoon.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Antelope Valley and the adjacent foothills in Northeastern Los Angeles County, including Lake Los Angeles, Palmdale and Lancaster until 3:30 p.m.
