The Detroit Lions are waiving defensive tackle Brodric Martin, The Detroit News has learned.

Because Martin, the 96th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has less than four accrued seasons, he will now hit the waiver wire, where the rest of the 31 teams in the league will have a chance to add him to their 53-man roster. If he goes unclaimed, the Lions can attempt to bring him back on their 16-man practice squad.

Martin, 26, enjoyed a relatively strong preseason this year, posting a 16.1% pass-rush win rate over four exhibitions. That ranked 11th out of the 128 defensive linemen (excluding edge defenders) who had at least 30 pass-rush snaps (Martin had 36).
