Three people have been arrested in the first two days of Burning Man, Pershing County Sheriff Jerry Allen told the RGJ on Monday.
One person was arrested Monday after allegedly being found with a large amount of cocaine and firearms, Allen said. Two arrests on Sunday were on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
"You know it's just a family friendly event," Allen said -- a bit sarcastically.
Allen leads a team of 22 deputies who patrol Burning Man, annual countercultural festival in the Black Rock Desert.
No details on the arrests were immediately available.
Arrests at Burning Man happen every year as the playa becomes one of the largest cities in Nevada, with more than 70,000 people. It’s significantly more than the 7,000 or so Pershing County residents during the rest of the year
