BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- California State University, Bakersfield kicked off the first day of its 2025 fall semester on Monday.

President of CSUB, Dr. Vernon Harper, continued the tradition of welcoming new and returning students to the Red Brick Road early Monday morning.

"Really, really excited for our Runners to join us on campus today. It's been a long hot summer, and we're happy to have everyone back. And a new school year brings new academic programs to the institution: our concentration on artificial intelligence and STEM programs, but also making sure we're delivering the type of instruction that can really elevate all of our students and their families," Harper said.

CSUB has also launched a new dance credential too.
