BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A person driving under the influence has allegedly claimed another victim...this time at Panama Lane and Stine Road.

The crash occurred around 1:20 a.m., when a car traveling west on Panama Lane struck a car headed south on Stine Road. A woman in her 20s, a passenger in the southbound vehicle, was ejected and died at the scene.

Police didn't clarify if she was wearing a seatbelt or not. The driver of that car suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police said speed and alcohol appeared to be factors, but they didn't say which driver was suspected of drinking and speeding.

The chaos didn't end there.

A vehicle drove through a barricade while officers investigated the fatal crash and the driver was determined to be under the influence, according to police.
