ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - St. Clair County school officials are responding to what they say is “substantial misinformation” following an investigation on allegations of assault at a school dance.
Odenville Middle School hosted a back-to-school dance on Friday, Aug. 15. During the event, several girls said their skirts were lifted and photos taken while being groped by two boys .
Parents said the girls tried to get away by either hiding in the bathroom or hallway and were reportedly told by administration to go back inside and “deal with it.”
Social media posts circulated following the dance and parents stood in front of the St. Clair County Board of Education on Tuesday night, Aug. 19 calling for better safety procedures.
