LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A woman was arrested early Monday after police say she tried to get rid of her drugs during a north Lincoln traffic stop.

Amel Hadgi, 24, is charged with possession of an exceptionally hazardous drug, possession of a controlled substance, possession of money during a drug violation and evidence tampering.

Shortly after midnight, an officer pulled over a car without license plates near 33rd Street and Cornhusker Highway.

The officer got permission from the driver to search the car, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

But as the officer was looking through the car, an arrest affidavit says Hadgi — the passenger — dumped a bag of marijuana and a bag of about 30 fentanyl pills in some nearby bushes.
