BEAUMONT, Texas — The Woodville community gathered Monday to celebrate the grand opening of the new Woodville Elementary School, a $36 million project funded through a voter-approved bond that will serve students from pre-K through fifth grade.
Administrators cut the ribbon as residents and district leaders marked what they called a major investment in local education. “From the hallways to the classrooms to the books, it’s already being put to use at the new Woodville Elementary School,” said Woodville ISD Superintendent Lisa Meysembourg, who described the campus as a new chapter for the district.
The new building brings students under one roof for the first time. Previously, elementary grades were spread across 11 separate buildings, forcing students to move outside between classes. Me
