FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two Fresno city councilmembers are now voicing their support for the manager of a popular Fresno restaurant who's been in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody for over 60 days.

Fresno city councilmembers Annalisa Perea and Mike Karbassi are now calling for Psalm Behpoor to be released from ICE custody.

"I'm praying to God that when they look at this, the administration understands that, 'Hey, this guy has rehabilitated himself, he's not who he used to be, he's 100% fighting for the American Dream,'" Behpoor said from the Mesa Verde Ice Processing Facility in Bakersfield.

In a letter released Monday, Perea and Karbassi advocated for his release.
