PEPPER PIKE, Ohio -- Employees of the Orange City School District can anticipate saving money on prescription drug coverage starting next year.

On Monday, Treasurer Gary Platko told the Orange Board of Education that on Friday (Aug. 22), the Suburban Health Consortium -- of which Orange Schools is a member -- decided to change prescription drug vendors, effective Jan. 1.

“We’re looking at a savings for the consortium of 25 percent on prescription drug coverage,” Platko said.

There will be no change in employee benefits, Platko said.

He noted that staff members will receive a new ID card for prescription drug coverage, and there will be likely be some changes regarding which drugs are covered.
