MOSINEE — Mosinee’s football coach Kyle Stoffel knew this season would look different than previous ones. He knew this year would be one of his players finding their own and seeing where all the pieces best fit.
But one thing that never wavered, was his belief in his team's ability to compete with the best programs around the state, despite losing so many key players across their defensive front seven.
He expects his squad, if they can stay healthy, to compete for the Great Northern crown and potentially make a deep run in the WIAA postseason.
And in week one, against one of the top programs in this era of Wisconsin high school football, Stratford, his team made a statement heard around the state, as they knocked off the Tigers 26-19 at home.
