A person was shot during an incident with West Shore Regional police officers on Monday evening in Lemoyne Borough, state police said.

At 6:45 p.m., West Shore Regional police responded to the first block of Lowther Street in the borough for reports of a person in distress. Police said when they arrived, the person waved what appeared to be a handgun.

At least one officer shot their gun and hit the person, who is currently getting medical treatment. The person’s name was not released.

No officers were injured. State police and the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.
