The federal worker who threw a loaded Subway footlong hoagie into the bullet-proof-vest-covered chest of a federal agent has done us a public service.
Sean Charles Dunn’s impulsive act of disgust at seeing Washington, DC, being occupied by federal troops has made him perhaps America’s most famous food thrower since a bunch of guys in Boston hurled tea into the harbor a long time ago.
Before Dunn threw the sandwich, he reportedly voiced his displeasure to the Customs and Border Patrol officers he saw on the street corner.
“Why are you here?” Dunn asked. “I don’t want you in my city.”
I don’t condone food throwing, especially if I just paid for it and I’m hungry. But you’ve got to admit, food tossing has some solid roots in this country as a protest option.
