After a wild season of PGA Tour golf, we're finally going to learn who will be the full United States team for the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.

That's right, that announcement is coming on Wednesday, Aug. 27, with captain Keegan Bradley telling the world the six captain's picks who will join the sextet of automatic qualifiers (Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Harris English and Bryson DeChambeau).

Will he go with experience? Younger players who have exploded on the scene as of late? A combo of both? Will he pick himself as a captain-player?

These are all great questions that we'll get answers to. But for now, let's predict the six captain's picks as we get ready for the real thing:

Justin Thomas

You're not necessarily picking him because of performance, although he was just outside the top-6 in the Ryder Cup standings. No, this is about experience, with JT playing three times in the Cup and performing very well. You want him in the locker room with this group. A no-brainer.

Collin Morikawa

Another no-brainer. He's been there twice, won a Ryder Cup and he's a calming veteran influence. Doesn't matter that he's coming off an uneven year of golf.

Keegan Bradley

Yes, I think the captain picks himself. I've been waffling on this -- as I'm sure Bradley has -- for weeks. Is it a bad look to pick yourself, especially if you don't perform? My answer is: Not when you're playing like he has. He was consistent all year with wins (the Travelers), top-10s and not a ton of missed cuts. I have confidence he can balance captaining and playing.

Patrick Cantlay

Another experienced name who wasn't exactly making a case for a while. But I think he's the pick especially with his play picking up in August (that T2 in the Tour Championship was huge).

Cameron Young

We've now reached rough territory here. It could be Cam, it could be Ben Griffin, it could be Sam Burns... and while I'll debate that last pick below, let's focus on Young. With the previous predicted picks, we've focused on experience. Taking Young is all about choosing a golfer who's red-hot as of late with a win at Wyndham and a T4 at the Tour Championship. I love this pick.

Sam Burns

This is the one Bradley loses sleep over. It comes down to Griffin -- one of the hottest golfers of 2025 -- as a rookie or Burns' experience, although he played well at the BMW (T4) and Tour Championship (T7).

Who gets snubbed?

  • Ben Griffin
  • Andrew Novak
  • Chris Gotterup
  • Maverick McNealy
