CINCINNATI —

The man accused of slapping another person in the downtown Cincinnati brawl last month that went viral will make his first appearance in court Tuesday.

Alex Tchervinsky, 45, is set to appear on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct . The case against him is complicated, since he's also considered one of the victim's of the assault. Advertisement

Investigators have still not said what started all of this, but viral video of the violent incident appears to show Tchervinsky slapping another man before being seriously beaten by a group of people.

This has led to discussions around race, including from city leaders, since Tchervinsky is the only white person charged in the brawl's aftermath.

The seven other people who have been charged are Black. They all face felonies
