A driver who was involved in two collisions and later found unconscious behind the wheel was charged with several offences, including impaired driving.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision just after 7 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of Kingsway.

Responding officers learned that a pickup truck struck two parked cars before leaving the area.

According to witnesses, the driver appeared to be impaired.

The pickup truck was located a short time later in a parking lot on the 600 block of Arthur Street West. The driver was observed unconscious inside the running vehicle.

Signs of impairment by the driver were observed by officers, as well as paraphernalia associated with drug use inside the vehicle, police claim.
