On paper they’re an undersized unit, but the Battle Ground Tigers’ defensive linemen have found other ways to make their presence felt.
The group, which features senior defensive ends Lukas Champine and David Enright, plus junior nose tackle Tony Sahli, have maintained a tradition that’s carried on since Mike Woodward took over as the Tigers’ head coach four years ago.
On many Saturdays during the offseason, Battle Ground’s defensive linemen gather at District Stadium to work out together. Rain or shine, they hold the distinction of being the Tigers’ lone position group that trains year-round.
