CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Former Bearcats star quarterback Desmond Ridder did not make the Bengals’ 53-man roster, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Tuesday is the final day for NFL teams to cut their roster to 53.

Ridder, who signed shortly before training camp with Cincinnati, was released by the Bengals Tuesday, Pelissero said.

Ridder, now 25, was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He has bounced around the NFL, having stints with the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.

During his time as UC’s starting quarterback, Ridder led the Bearcats to the College Football Playoff semi-finals against Alabama in 2021. Ridder became the Bearcats’ starting quarterback in the 2018 season.
