A pair of former Michigan State standouts were part of the same roster purge.
Linebacker Jacoby Windmon and running back Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams were among the 18 players the Carolina Panthers waived on Monday. Teams have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to reduce their rosters to the 53-man limit.
After going undrafted, Windmon had 22 tackles and 1.5 sacks in eight games with two starts for the Panthers as a rookie last season. Lynch-Adams spent one season with the Spartans before going undrafted in April.
Windmon, a former UNLV transfer, started all 11 games he appeared in over two seasons at Michigan State. He posted 64 tackles, including 12.5 for a loss, 6.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Windmon was the first Spartan named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week three times in one s
