Former State Police investigator Michael Proctor , who was fired for misconduct in the Karen Read case , will go before the Civil Service Commission this week in an effort to get his job back, records show.

Proctor’s full hearing before the commission, which reviews appeals of firings and employee discipline in local and state government, is scheduled to begin Tuesday morning and continue Wednesday, an agenda says.

Proctor , the lead investigator in the Read case, was fired in March. He had been forced on the witness stand during Read’s first trial last year to read crude and misogynistic texts that he sent about her to friends and coworkers.

Read’s lawyers seized on the texts to argue that investigators were biased against her from the start.
