A Grange Hill and London's Burning star has been accused of carrying out sex attacks on two teenage girls, a court heard today (August 26).

John Alford, 53, who acted as Robbie Wright in popular BBC show, Grange Hill from 1985 to 1990, and Billy Ray in the ITV series London's Burning between 1993 and 1998, is accused of four counts of sexual activity with a 14-year-old and two counts of sexual assault and assault by penetration with a second girl who was 15 at the time.

Prosecutors at St Albans Crown Court said Mr Alford, who has been charged under his legal name of John Shannon, had sexually assaulted both of the girls, who did not know him prior to the alleged incident and were intoxicated after visiting a pub, the court was told.
