A schoolboy has pleaded with his mum to 'let him die' after he was set on fire in a tragic fire accident during the school holidays.

Hunter Jory, 12, was playing in a field with his friends during his time off from education, when the incident occurred on August 18, following another child decided to light a small fire.

It was when a different individual then threw a petrol can onto the flames which created a huge explosion, leaving the 12-year-old boy engulfed in the flames.

The youngster managed to run to a mate’s house, who called his mum Kim. She rushed him to a nearby doctor’s surgery while waiting for an ambulance.
