The fate of Gov. Josh Stein's six remaining vetoes won't be determined for at least another four weeks.

The Republican-controlled N.C. House on Tuesday withdrew five bills from floor consideration and placed them on the Sept. 22 floor calendar.

Political analysts have said the postponements likely signals House speaker Destin Hall, R-Caldwell, lacks the support of at least one House Democrat supporter, or confidence in the absence of enough Democrats at a voting session for Republicans to have at least three-fifths majority present.
