As many as 15% of JetZero's pledged 14,560 employees — or 2,184 — at Piedmont Triad International Airport could be system contractors serving in full-time roles, the fledgling aircraft manufacturer confirmed Tuesday.

The pledge regarding full-time employees is tied to incentives from the state and local governments.

JetZero announced on June 12 plans for a $4.7 billion U.S. manufacturing plant at the Greensboro airport where it would make its Z4 aircraft, which is being marketed as the "world’s first commercial blended wing body airplane.”

Plant construction is projected to start in the first half of 2026. The initial test flight is expected in 2027 and commercial flight service by 2030.
