Put the Ding Dongs down. The popular chocolate snack cakes made by Hostess have been recalled by its parent company, the J. M. Smucker Co., due to the potential presence of mold.
The recall was initiated on Aug. 21 and applies to select lots of Hostess Ding Dongs products sold in the U.S. The affected products include:
Hostess Chocolate Ding Dong 2-count pack with UPC 8-88109-01002
Hostess Chocolate Ding Dong 10-count box with UPC 8-88109-11061
Hostess Chocolate Ding Dong Family Pack 16-count box with UPC 8-88109-11092
The company’s withdrawal notice indicates that the impacted products have the following Best By dates: Aug. 30, 2025, Aug. 31, 2025, Sept. 1, 2025, Sept. 2, 2025, and Sept. 3, 2025.
The compromised Ding Dongs should not be consumed and can be returned to the store
