LT Overton feels prepared for Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos . It helps that the Alabama football defensive end faced a "shifty, mobile quarterback every day in practice last year" in Jalen Milroe .

"There's nothing different," Overton said. "Being able to keep him contained, keeping our rush lanes, stay in check and making sure he just keeps the ball. We want to make sure he doesn't want the ball in his hands anymore."

Without a quarterback to give the Alabama defense that same look heading into 2025, the Crimson Tide got creative, and brought a former high school quarterback out of retirement.

Jaylen Mbakwe , the Alabama cornerback-turned-wide receiver, returned to his place behind center to get the Crimson Tide prepared for Castellanos.
