LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — The Palmyra man charged in the death Nebraska State Patrol Trooper Kyle McAcy appeared in court on Tuesday.
Thomas Jordan, 56, is charged with a single count of misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide in Cass County Court. He entered a not guilty plea during his court appearance.
A pretrial hearing is scheduled for Oct. 21 at 1:30 p.m.
Trooper McAcy was hit and killed while responding to a crash on Interstate 80 on Feb. 17.
A preliminary investigation determined Trooper McAcy and another trooper responded to a crash that involved a Nebraska Department of Transportation snow plow and two passenger vehicles at 9:20 a.m.
NSP said one of the vehicles hit the rear of the snow plow as it was plowing eastbound I-80 near Ashland.
