The West Virginia Mountaineers and Alabama Crimson Tide were slated to play a home-and-home series against one another starting in 2026 in Morgantown.

However, that series has been canceled after the two sides to mutually agreed.

This comes after the recent developments from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) as the conference moves to nine conference games, starting in 2026.

WVU will keep its home game in 2026 and will add an additional one in 2027.

"This scheduling philosophy has proven to be successful across college football.
