Georgians are heading into Labor Day weekend with a welcome break at the pump : gas prices in the state are wrapping up their cheapest summer since 2020.

According to GasBuddy’s 2025 Labor Day press release , the national average is expected to hit $3.15 per gallon, down from $3.29 in 2024. That makes this the lowest Labor Day gas price in five years.

While Georgia-specific numbers weren’t broken out in the report, local averages typically trend below the national figure. This means many drivers across the Peach State could see prices closer to or even under $3 per gallon heading into the holiday weekend.
