OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A now-19-year-old who was charged with the shooting death of a 16-year-old in 2024 has pleaded no contest.
Emerson Olivorio-Marroqui, of Ralston, was 18 at the time of the Sept. 12 murder of Wilson Garcia-Miranda, who was found shot to death in South Omaha near the area of Q and S 48th Streets.
Olivorio-Marroqui was found nearby with a gunshot injury and was later arrested as the suspect.
Olivorio-Marroqui pleaded no contest Tuesday to an amended charge of manslaughter instead of first-degree murder.
He faces up to 20 years in prison when convicted. His sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 15.
